A2 DESCRIPTION

                                        


The A2 is a German exam for adults. It requires elementary language skills and corresponds to the second level (A2) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

PASSING THE EXAM DEMONSTRATES THAT YOU CAN ...

  • understand and use sentences and common expressions in everyday situations,
  • make yourself understood in simple, routine situations demanding an exchange of information on familiar and common topics,
  • describe your background and education, immediate surroundings and other matters associated with your immediate needs in a simple way.

THE LEVEL A1

  The  Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR or CEF for short)   is a standardized guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and beyond.  These levels are classified as A1 for beginners, A2 for elementary, B1 for intermediate, B2 for upper intermediate, C1 as advanced, and C2 as mastery. Expath, like many other language schools, splits these levels in half to accommodate students’ time and budget planning (e.g. level A1 is split into A1.1 and A1.2).
